Hello, I am also steam deck user :> It a bug with running vids through proton.
Copy this below and paste it into launch options. (Also make sure to run through proton)
WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command%

Sounds similar to videos not showing for V-Rising. Valve can't include the files that allow the videos to load.

Easy to fix, Proton-GE. Just grab ProtonUp-Qt from the Discover store.

Add
-d3d12
to your launch parameters. It worked for me.

This worked for me on the steam deck immediately.

The d3d12 setting helped a little bit on my system. But it helped even more to set the launch option to this:
WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command%
For future reference, you can check ProtonDB[protondb.com] to find these kind of fixes quickly.

Tried all the suggestions here, and still had problems; even though the white screen stopped appearing. Best fix seems to be to rename the cutscene folder while in desktop mode. Go to "racoon" then rename the "movies" folder. Folder can be deleted, if preferred. Run game with Proton Experimental. When you get to the white screen, just hold down the "E" button (default set as B button).
