Indigo Park was designed to offer a unique blend of Mascot Horror/Indie Horror, and its clear that a lot of people enjoy the game, even if you don't. While I understand that it may not have resonated with you personally, many players have found the gameplay, storyline, and overall energy of the game very compelling, myself included. But im not hear to talk about that. Im hear to talk about the facts.
Now about the game's originality and character designs, its clear that the game was inspired by some fnaf and poppy playtime, (setting, storyline, etc) but, if you really think about it, nothing is truly ever original. Everything that has been made has stemmed from something else. Lets take fnaf, for example. Scott Cawthon, (aka, the creator of the fnaf franchise) was in fact inspired to make the game because of the Chuck E. Cheese franchise, and their creepy animatronics. Now, would you go say the same thing about Scotts game because it was inspired by something else? No. Because he threw his own spin to it, which made it blossom into the successful franchise it is today. Its obvious that this game's storyline is not completely original, but it's only the first chapter. And keep in mind, this is only a passion project. There's literally NO NEED to share this type of negativity. If you really think its so boring, then at least leave some constructive criticism, which can help the developer grow the game, instead of badmouthing it to other people.
Another thing I would like to point out is that you said in your message, and I quote, "Would not recommend this to anyone, even if it is a free game." end quote. Do you notice the part where you said that this is a free (free: for the use of everyone) game? On steam, in order for a developer/development team to earn any money off of a game, they must either,
- Use IAPS (in app purchases)
- Put a price on the game
- Put advertisments in the game
Now, take into account that Indigo park does NONE of the following, which only means that the developer/his development team is getting NO MONEY off of this game. This means that they are taking the time and money out of their wallets to make this game, which takes a lot of dedication. Also, it takes a lot of money to make a game of good quality, (voice actors, overall quality, etc). Even if you dont want to tell other people about this game, I dont see how trying to degrade it as 'bad' on the internet going to do anything about it. At least attempt to help the developer improve in their game.
Now if I could direct your attention to the following sentence. Quote, "This game was so blatantly terrible that it's one of the only games I messaged Steam Support to remove from my account." End quote. Is the game really so bad that you needed to contact the Steam Support Team just for them to pluck it off your holier-than-thou screen monitor? You could just.... i dont know... ignore it? But then again, if it really pains you to see it, then I suppose it must be done.
Next, I would like to shine a light on the following sentence, "Not to mention the abysmal character designs, am I supposed to be scared of someone's furry OCs?"...im sorry, but is fnaf literally not the same thing? If you count these character designs as furries, then whats that to say about EVERY SINGLE ANIMACTORIC IN FNAF? The literal definition of animatronic is an anthropomorphic robot. Theres Chica (a chicken), Bonnie, (a bunny), Freddy (A bear), and Foxy (a Fox). Do you see what im trying to help you understand? While FNAF obviously has a more unique storyline than Indigo Park, you have to take into consideration that BOTH could be refered to as, and these are your words, not mine "Someones Furry OCS". Now dont get me wrong, I love fnaf, it was one of the first fandoms I joined (right next to creepypastas) but all games have their flaws. As you know, there is a saying that goes 'imitation is the best form of flattery.'
Now, I have to agree with you on one thing. This game does lack a bit of the scary concept to it, but I believe thats what gives it its overall charm. Why must it be scary all the time? Maybe your just the type of person whos really into being scared s h i t less every 5 seconds, but (as im sure many people can agree with me) I like to actually take time to enjoy the game and its overall lore instead of being jumpscared everytime I move my mouse to look in a different direction.
Well, thank you for reading this, if you even got down here and didnt start immideatly typing to degrade/downsize everything I just said. As I stated in the beginning, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and the internet is just a place to share them with other people. But please. Dont just slam a big thumbs down on the game and then give a horrible explanation as to why you did so. Do some research first. I would like to have a genuine conversation on our conflicting points of view, a debate if you will, instead of flinging insults at each other like animals. WE can all have a sophisticated conversation like the sophisticated people we all know we can be.
Thank you.
and poppy and not fnaf but its better then amanda and garten of banban and hello neighbor
Right now, a thousand more mascot horror games would be more appealing than this endless repetition of random nobodies trying to tell everybody else what to think and do.
In other words: "I don't understand how anyone can enjoy this" implying you think the people who do have to justify it to you or that there's something wrong with anyone who enjoys the game.
And how would you know what other people find fun or scary to state that with such certainty?
Having your opinion is fine. Heck, I even agree with some of it. The problem is you didn't just state your opinion, you came in with phrasing that clearly indicated sharing your opinion wasn't enough: you needed others to agree with you so you could tear the game down.
And like I said, this happens a lot. Right down to the "I'm just stating my opinion" backpedal defense when called out, I might add.
If you genuinely care to give proper feedback, then maybe focus on some actual things about the game to discuss in better detail and why they didn't work for you and not "people only like this because some youtuber made it."
This game is made by a a YouTuber and Twitch streamer UniqueGeese, he has almost no experience in game development and this is his first full on game project.
I don't understand how a FNAF and poppy playtime have relation to this?
Does this game have animatronics? Yes, but they were long time abandoned and were replaced by more live mascots.
Does this game looks like fnaf? No, not at all, there was no gameplay of sitting in one place, checking tablet and closing doors on the mascots.
Is this game a rip-off of Poppy playtime? Once again, no, mascot horror is a genre of horror that revolves around mascot or mascots, and it has nothing to do with Poppy Playtime, just because Poppy Playtime was a big hit back then and popularized mascot horror genre, it doesn't mean that everyone wants to make a rip-off.
Are antagonists and protagonists of this game are furries? NO!!!! Definition of furry: Furry is a person who identify themselves as an animal with human characteristics. Are mascots humans? No, they are simply inteligent mascots that are used to attract audience to the park, they are not used to identify someone's personality.
Plus, your message is complete bogus, in a part where we enter Lloyd's theatre, we can clearly see that he has almost no human traits, which means that you didn't play the game at all, and don't know what a furry is. That's like playing game about cats and saying: "Why are there furries on my screen?" Animals are NOT furries.
Why you didn't get scared? Obviously because you didn't play it, judging by my previous statement. I myself didn't get scared, but it's probably because I watched full gameplay of the game before actually playing it, so I knew where to go and what to expect, if I went to this game without any sort of knowledge or experience about it, I'd probably would've sh*t my pants.
Abysmal character design? Oh god, what a bad rage bait... All designs are good and match mascot horror park genre, the designs match characters that you would've actually met in a park made for kids, plus most of people are obsessed with characters, which makes your rage bait unrealistic, at least actually play the game and use your last 2 braincells to make your rage bait realistic.
Never knew why people make ragebaits in the first place, like how you can find enjoynment in making other people hate you? Like you have a masochism fetish or something? Judging by hentai games that you have, probably yes, pretty sad.
My guy, please search a therapist or any other mental help, your actions aren't normal, judging by hentai games on your account, you probably have some kind of p addiction, and judging by this post, your self-esteem went so low, that your best kind of action to get attention is rage bait, none of that is normal and I'm genially concerned.
Message to others: please don't give any attention to this person or anyone else who shows hate towards any community, people like this usually are ragebaiting and are trying to get attention, the best actions to do against that type of people, is to ignore them, block them, or even report them if they violate any Terms of Use or Terms of Service.
Also this is one of the few horror mascot game on steam that is actually good and it even have good graphics and ray tracing too. And the ost slaps.
