4 player coop is possible?

Hi there, I just remembered that these games were used to play in those recreative machines and even this game's normal version only included 2 player cooperation...

Doesn't anybody of you remember seeing that there were some recreative machines that were specially done to have sticks and buttons for 4 players? I do, When I was a child, I saw some recreative machines with controllers for 4 people, and were of older games thatn Metal Slug 3 (I can perfectly remember Cadillac & Dinosaurs and Sunset Riders, and I would say Captain Commando was another one).

I always thought there were four characters in almost all Metal Slugs (the first one didn't) because somewhere, I don't know, there was a recreative machine with the possibility to play 4 people simoultaneously.

- Does anybody know anything abou this?

- Do you think it would be implementable for the Steam version (local/online)?

- What's your personal opinion?

* I know it would affect the game's difficulty, but honestly, playing with two more friends than usual would just be an option and, of course, I have already beaten all Metal Slugs I have had (I'm thinking of buying the Steam version).

No never... Metal Slug has always been 2 players and should always stay that way... crazy kids these days.

Besides, with 4 players, one player would have to sit out the majority of the final mission.

Played this game in the arcade and beaten it countless times, I'd love a 4 player co-op. Sure it sounds rediculous, but whats the harm with having fun with 3 buddies?

The thing about arcade games that are four player is the enemy compensation that occurs from more players playing the game.

Take for example the old Teenage mutant ninja turtles arcade or the simpsons arcade. You play with 1 player. There is X enemies on screen. Two players results in 2*X. (maybe not exactly that but you get the idea)

Doing this for metal slug would result in absolute chaos on the screen.

Sooooo, I just played it with a few friends and man... I don't what is better: if it's the 60 fps or the option to play with 4 friends. It's gorgeous, honestly. A few tips: You can play it online using parsec and, if you have a monitor with more than 60hz, lock it at 60 fps.
