This game is so hard!
... But I love it so much I can't help but WANT to go again to get further and further:chainsaw:

Thanks for bringing my PC this game, devs! We totally need so many many more arcade games.

( Crosses fingers ) AVP... AVP... AVP

AVP was done by Capcom so i dout it will come on PC like Metal Slug 3. Unless they do a reboot of it like they have done with Strider.

Metal Slug 3 is hard, but not the hardest.

Although on normal difficulty setting (or Rank 4, for arcade vets), you shouldn't be running into too much trouble. Final Mission is very long, prepare to devote some time into that. It's about the length of two missions.

Or, as Allen would say "GO HOME TO YOUR MOMMY!"

It would be great if there was an option to adjust the credit amount from anywhere from 20 to 99.

Once you've played it for a while, you start to realize where every single enemy is, and how to beat every boss without dying. Trust me, it doesn't sound fun to memorize a game to enjoy it, but this one is one the best arcade games to memorize. You'll soon watch your credits seem to stack up, each level, and eventually, you'll start doing "no miss" runs, and get mad at yourself for losing. Trust me, keep at it, and you'll love it! The game wasn't meant to be anywhere close to easy, considering I'd spend about five dollars into this game back in the day, and I'd only move about two inches. :)

Yeah, you play long enough and you'll know the best route that fits your playstyle. =D
I used to play the arcade so much that I knew level 1 by heart haha, although it hasn't let me beat level 2 without losing life though, I hate the first part of the boss so much.

I'm just as bad at it as I was when I played through the series nonstop on the PS2 anthology. Still great, and can't wait to buy the others. It's funny thinking about how much it would cost me if I were to play from start to finish at an arcade.

Yeah the money I paid? Totally worth it since I'd have payed so much more in the Arcades

That's one of the reasons why I love the Metal Slug series. It's pretty memorization-heavy but it's so satisfying seeing yourself progress and improve. I always found that the learning experience is the most enjoyable part about arcade games.

I concur. I was never really any good at games, I'd stand there watching all the bigger kids play and get far.

I mostly spent all my Arcade money on light gun games like house of the dead and Time Crisis

I played Metal Slug on PS2 and there you can choose from Easy, Medium, Hard with 5, 10, 20 credits and Free Play (unlimited amount of credits, which sucks ass, becouse playing a game without any chalenge at all is damn boring) and damn this game is hard in a CHEAP way. This is NO FUN to play a game on memory alone (it makes me even more angry for the creators when I think that this game was designed only to get quarters from sucker kids that wanted to be good at it and thats why you die alot and have to memorize everything to get anywhere)..

It was for this reason I did not pay for games in the arcade, I was the one standing around watching everyone else play them.

The only game I ever payed for once was House of the Dead and Area 51 games, the lightgun was just too cool to pass up.

this version is harder because there are no slowdowns when many enemies appear.
I think also they increased the character hitboxes a little

also I think the easy and normal mode here are harder than in the actual arcade
