Thanks. I know about that one :) But I'm talking here, on Steam.
My point is the complete edition is already working on pc since 2010. and they want individual release for steam.
However, where I live, the Collection costs 80 bucks on Amazon, and Amazon has no discounts :}
MS 1 through 4 are set to AES mode on 5 credits (options available). MS5 is set to MVS Mode on Freeplay (options not available, default difficulty). And MS6 is based around the PS2 version with its main menu having some features stripped out (namely no options, combat school and the gallery).
Also, hardly anything more or less PC features wise like no graphic filters or resolution changes (its always in fullscreen), nor autofire even, so yeah. Though, at least the games offer save/load on each individual game where you left off at your current progress. (Though its kinda buggy on MS6 where if you run the Collection again after loading the save file, it kinda crashes, but not on your current run.)
The collection is fine and all, but its not perfect.
IMO current the best option is emulation until some company can make a product that offers those above things, either individual games or preferable as anthology pack.
Outside of that, best to simply emulate as close to source as possible, this means for MS1-5 Neo Geo MVS AES via MAME. For MS6 Atomiswave via Demul, do not get a Mame version of MS6 it is not real, either it is a Bootleg version of 3, or something else, Neo Geo did not and could not run MS 6 only atomiswave or your playing a ported version of an emulated version on some console.
There are only 2 metal slug games that were ever originally made for console that is Metal Slug 7 (aka XX) where the best for us pc gamers to play is via psp emulator PPSSPP imo and the infamous Metal Slug 3D which you can find on ps2 emulator pcsx2 .
Most will say MS 1 - 3 are the best 4,5, are kind of off (not bad but removing classic parts or charecters) MS 6 is return to form, it has slightly different art style I guess the background are of higher resolution (better hardware) and MS 7 the only one not to have an arcade release is also good.
If you love these run and gun games and wish there was more you can also check out:
Demon Front: Obviously inspired by MS, same art and animation style, only thing is no vehicles you get a pet that can attack or transform into a shield .
Dolphin Blue: Crisp Visuals run and gun and sometimes you ride a dolhpin while shooting haha
on windows 10 store more expensive that steam, and i don see have bundle pack
