How to directly modify relics

Hello,

I have been playing for a while and read through the discussions about how people can directly modify relics.

How does one do this?

Every time I try to modify a relic, the game either hides the description preventing me from modifying the relic, and when I pin the description, the game disables the one dice.

I'm aware I can manipulate the charges on actives and the counters on the passive relics, but how does one specifically use the one dice to directly modify the numbers on a relic?

You can only do this during relic-drafting as rewards/loot. Once you have them on you, you're no longer able to modify them.
