Reset the game?
I've already sent this as an email to the devs, but I don't think they ever got it. But how do completely delete the game from your computer? (or at the very least reset it) I've tried deleting all local files, and once I reinstall the game, it starts me back with all my previous progress.

I'm not trying to get rid of the game, I just want to reset it to square one.

Hi there!

Sorry about the lack of response from the email, I've looked into it and it just kind of fell of the wagon, sorry about that!

Here is the procedure for resetting your Steam data, so it won't pull down from the cloud (This is borrowed from here, but it does have some distinct LGOness to it):
  1. In your steam library, right click on Life Goes On and hit properties. Go to update and disable Cloud syncing (it should be at the bottom)
  2. Exit Steam (Do not just log out, shut it down - this is important to do or else it causes an error later on)
  3. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\<Your Steam ID #>\250050\ and delete all the files in the directory. (Your steam path may vary, for example C:\Program Files (x86)\ on 64-bit windows, or maybe a different drive letter like D:\Program... Additionally, the Steam ID number is your unique ID for steam, not your user account name, I was able to find mine through this website[steamidfinder.com])
  4. Go to C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\LocalLow\Infinite Monkeys\Life Goes On and delete both the profile.lgo and the save.lgo files
  5. Launch Steam
  6. Launch Life Goes On
  7. Finish the first level (if you go quick this should only take 10 seconds) - Wait for the victory screen to finish so you can go back to the main menu.
  8. Exit the Game
  9. Right Click on Life Goes On in your Library, click on properties, go to the Update tab, and re-enable Cloud Syncing
  10. Launch LGO
  11. The conflicted files resolution screen should appear, take the local files and not the cloud files.
After this is done when the game launches, you should have completely empty save and achievement data, except for the one level you previously finished.

If you have any more problems, post in here and I'll get in contact with you via the email address you left.

The since you're just deleting the files in the 250050 directory you'll only be deleting Life Goes On's files (the Steam App ID of LGO is 250050). Each game on steam has it's own directory inside of the userdata folder (which is why you only want to delete the files from the 250050 folder inside of your steam user id directory). I can guarantee that all files in the 250050 directory are related only to Life Goes On.

I'm running Linux, and I wasn't sure what the equivalent of the "userdata" directory was. In any case, it was sufficient to just delete the following:
rm ~/.config/unity3d/Infinite\ Monkeys/Life\ Goes\ On/{profile,save}.lgo

Thank you it worked for me.
Why not propose that as an option in the game ?
AWesome game btw
