How do I leg sweep?

Everytime I try to leg sweep it just does half of one and doesn't hit the opponet, 90% of my deaths are due to leg sweeps. In fact everytime I try to do any other combat than kick and punch it just never seams to connect

It only does a half one because it's getting blocked. Try to use leg sweeps when the opponent is using a high, round kick. They are vulnerable then, if you manage to get the kick in first.

You can also cancel attacks by pressing the block key while the animation runs. Maybe you expect a counter and press block while the sweep is still going, cancelling the attack and leaving you defenseless.
