ALL Game Contols
Well I just bought Overgrowth and I would like for someone to list ALL game controls. Like how to slit someone's throat, how to make your character speak, and ect. I did see the key input setup in the "settings" but it doesn't tell you all the key controls.

I'll list the game controls I can think of. The editor is can mostly be controlled with the mouse, but there are some controls. I'll test them out later and add them to the list.
The wiki has a list. It's a bit outdated, but most of the game controls are still correct.
http://wiki.wolfire.com/index.php/Control_Reference#Character_Movement

I have started with my list here already, so I'll just continue at this point.

General:
Enter game: 8 while in the editor
Enter editor: Escape or 9 while in the game

Game controls
Movement controls:
  • Jump: Space (holding it longer means more air time)
  • Crouch: Shift
  • Grab ledge: right click while in the air or on a wall and in range
  • Wall run: keep Space pressed while jumping at a wall
  • Wall jump: press space again while on a wall
  • Wall flip: press Shift while on a wall (not as high as the wall jump, but preserves more momentum)
  • Flips in the air: Shift
Change the direction of the flip with the movement keys. Has no real function as of now.
  • Roll on the ground: Shift while pressing in a direction.

Combat:
  • Attacks: left click
Attacks differ based on distance, movement whether you are crouched or not.
For Turner the unarmed move-set is the following:
    • Far stationary: front kick
    • Far moving: Roundhouse kick
    • Close stationary: straight knee
    • Close moving: straight punch
    • Crouched: sweep kick
    • Leg cannon: Jump at an opponent and keep the left mouse button pressed
Cannot be blocked, but needs some getting used to. Completely overpowered right now.

Attacks when the opponent is on the ground
    • stationary: knee or front kick, depending on distance
    • moving: soccer kick

Other characters have different moves, for example a spinning back kick instead of the roundhouse kick

  • Crouch: Shift
Can be used to duck under high attacks (roundhouse kick, spinning back kick and the hook)

  • Roll out of ragdoll: Shift
Makes getting up from the ragdoll state much faster. With a movement key you can control the direction of the roll. Also when you are ragdolled in the air.

  • Block: right click
There are only active blocks. You have to time it correctly. Holding the block button does not work. You cannot block a weapon if you don't use one.
I think right click also catches thrown weapons, but enemies can't throw right now, so this is only relevant to multiplayer.

  • Hip throw counter: keep right click pressed after a successful block

  • Dodge: tap a movement key in the direction you want to dodge into
Same timing as with the block

  • Chokehold: hold right click after sneaking up on an opponent
If you keep it pressed, your character will choke out the opponent. You can move him around a bit in that time.
    • Cut throat: Left click while having the opponent in a chokehold. You need a weapon for that.

Weapon related controls:

  • Throwing a weapon: Q
  • Dropping a weapon/object: Q while crouched
  • Un-/Sheathing a weapon: E

Debug Keys:
  • Reset level: L
  • Revive all characters: X
  • De-/activate combat AI: C
  • Enter/Exit: Slow Motion: Tabulator
  • Enter Exit: Freeze Time: Double tap Tabulator
This also freezes the camera in the game mode. In the editor you can move around freely.
  • Laser eyes: F
instantly kills any NPC close to you and launches them away
  • Cut your own throat: , [comma]
  • Ragdoll modes: These buttons put all NPCs in this ragdoll mode for a few seconds. Keep them pressed for staying in this mode longer.
    • Limp ragdoll: M
    • Active ragdoll: Z
    • Pain ragdoll: N (player doesn't take damage while in this mode)
  • Scream:V
  • Character hotkeys:
    • 1: Turner
    • 2: Rabbit civilians
    • 3: Cats
    • 4: Rats
    • 5: Wolves
    • 6: Dogs
    • 7: Rabbot

EDITOR:

tbd
Actually, I think the editor controls are still all correct. so look them up here:

What doesn't work for you?

This thread is two years old. It is also a thread on the topic "what are all controls" not the topic "this thing doesn't work for me". Did this reply go to the wrong place?

Is it possible for the player to do a spinning heel kick in the arena mode?

Are you asking for a new feature, or is this an attack that exists in other parts of the game?

I know we have what we call a "roundhouse", which is in Athrul's list above. All non-sneak attacks that can be done in single player can be done in the arena.

If you're asking for a new feature, please make a new post. It is off topic on this thread. When you make that post, please specify exactly how you'd like it to work, when it would be executed, etc. We're not likely to make major modifications to the input scheme for combat (all attacks are triggered off left click), but if you can fit it into that framework, then we might consider it.

Locking the thread because it's started to attract off-topic discussion, and got necro'd.
