Finally released, everyone hates it. Why?
It's rare that a game gets out of Early Access but I guess this one did and yet people are talking crap about it. Why?:duranceleft::duranceright:

Coz the latest videos have focused on the campaign so newcomers think it is like every other game. (loong story, deep character profiles etc)

Those of us who use this game to make our own levels/campaigns/characters/scripts/weapons do not hate it at all.

Most of those people, who make mods, have followed the development over many years and knew what this game is and is not.

If you just see this game on steam for the first time and buy coz of interesting campaign, then you will think this game sucks...

The problem is really on how Wolfire decided to market it. From the store description, it attempts to draw you a story of sorts.

They should have been more self aware, I mean most of the the development logs were heavy on the features of the creative mode.

well i think, they wanted to make a game but after 9 years working on the game and releasing it 1.0 u can safely say that the development was a meatgrinder and they lost track. i feel like the campaign was created in the last year only and i can actual remember that they thought about just to concentrate on the arena combat mode sometime in 2015. that was at this point where their started to get active again communicating with the community on ogweekly livestreams besides the livestreams weren't weekly... and they droped it after some months again.

i think the biggest issue with the game is that there aren't alot of people work on this game and that they only live from the revenues of the sold copies. that's may why the price is so high.

there was even a point where they thought about shifting to UE, but dropped it because they needed to rework alot of coding.
btw i can say that i do know that the combat and wallrun/parkour stuff was in the game way back in the past and really never developed anywhere till now.

all in all i would say they should push out the bugfixes... whatever, and after this take a big vacation and work on a new project. and ofc lower the pricetag to 10 or 15$

Pretty much sums it all up

Here I thought it would be Lugaru + a real story.

Instead I got Lugaru with a vastly crappier combat system, slightly prettier graphics, and somehow an even shorter story.

But now you have the editor which is roughly 90% of the game..

Have you tried it yet?

Yeah coz this is the problem with the game, the marketing, not the game itself

its sad that people have been misguided if they have only seen this game on steam

They had a story, the comic they made a couple of years ago was quite good, but they didn't continue with the comic and they didn't make the story into the game... I think it's just development hell, they got tired of it basically.
