Why do furries ruin everything?

I love the look of the gameplay of this game but the fact oyu have to be a furry totally turns me of...

It's not exactly a 'criticism'. The characters being anthropomorphic is one of the main aspects of the game and it's story. Not necesarily defending the game, saying you can't criticise it, or saying you're opinion isn't valid. Simply stating the obvious that the devs suddenly aren't going to remove these characters in exchange for human ones after it has been developed and finally released in nine years.

To be honest it reminds me of 80's and 90's cartoons so for me the Internet's Furry obsesion is just meh, this game looks badass and the appeareance only makes it more appealing to me as an 80's kid

I thought a "furry" was someone whom is sexually attracted to anthropomorphics, not the anthropomorphics themselves. I think completely disregarding a game simply because your character isn't human is ridiculous. The character you play in game doesn't _have_ to be a representation of who you are, or who you identify as.

To quote the immortal words of Ilya Bryzagolov, "Is only game; why you heff to be mad?"

Do you refuse to play Duck Tales because you control an anthropomorphic duck? Did you never watch Bugs Bunny as a kid? Anthropomorphic characters have been a part of our society for generations, long before "furries" became a thing. Hell, Disney made an empire out of it. Grow up.
