Champions of Norrath...?
At first glance this really, really reminds me of Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms. Both are Playstation 2 games. Both were 4 player co-op, different classes etc.

If anyone has played that, is this like Champions?

Me too. There is no real replacement for it; I think Diablo III is as close as it gets. I was never a Diablo fan so I dont play III either.

I dont want to spen 12$ to find out so Im hoping someone who has this has also played Champions. If I do resort to buying it, Ill post back with opinions/comparisons.

I've played both and can say that no, this is nothing like Norrath or Diablo. Think short, puzzle-esque levels with difficult-to-achieve optional goals. The combat mechanics are pretty similar between the games mentioned: Hack with LMB and use various special skills when their cooldown permits. Forced is a lot more player skill -based game - Reminds me a bit of Dark Souls/Demon's Souls in that aspect - You mainly get better as you learn to use the class better. It has an unlocking system for new special skills, but most of the time you'll just have to do better with what you've got. Also there's no loot system in Forced. Dying has no penalties.

It all makes for a very different type of game. The competitive element (between better completion times for stages) is built in the game, and co-op is where it shines. I'd say the game resembles Super Meat Boy a lot more than Champions of Norrath.

This is not an ARPG, which some people have said it is. It is a action puzzle game.

the classes do give a small of rpg sense but that is more a matter of opinion.
