Purpose of the cat?

What is the purpose of the cat? I know the purpose of the dog is to chase down thieves but what does the cat do? Also, can the devs change the perimeter of the pets so I dont have to spend literally hours (in-game) looking for them to feed them?

LOL Well, it does that quite well. Whenever I know it is time to feed the cat, it is no where to be found. I have to spend in-game hours looking for it. I wish the pets would stay within the gas station area.

They are almost not worth it. The devs really need to work on them. Most of the time they are not around the gas station area anyway.

I had lost mine at one point. After fixing the office you can build a cat and dog house. Do this then save your game and quit out to your desktop. Then just load up your save and they should be back. At least this worked for me.

As far as I can tell, cats give customers something to do. I've noticed a few of my customers squat down near the cat, looks like they're petting something
