The program doesn't start when I try to launch it

I've been quite exited for this program for some time, but I can't even boot it, I've tried verifying the files, running it in admin, deleting files, none of it seems to work, Can someone help me out with this?
(I did put the files back after deleting them)

Hi, I am sorry to hear that. What kind of hardware do you use? Especially the graphics card is interesting. The graphics card is usually the reason why you can't boot. What operating system do you have? Do you at least see the loading screen?

No loading screen, WIndows, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

550 Ti is below minimum specs. You should upgrade to a 1070 or better as vulkan is a minimum requirement.

I personally use a slightly older AMD RX470 (like an NVIDIA 1060). It runs well for me. So a 1070 it does not necessarily have to be. :)

Sorry to revive this thread. I'm also having a crash on startup.
Running Windows 11, NVIDIA RTX 4070 (upgraded before Starfield, so I'm pretty sure I meet minimums, incl Vulkan). There's a 50% gray screen for ~10 seconds then crash to desktop, no alerts or anything.

Your card is definitely good enough in terms of performance. I have searched a little on the Internet. In the developer forum of Nvidia someone also has problems with a RTX 4070 (TI variant) and Vulkan. Looks like something is wrong with the drivers from Nvidia. I couldn't find out if the issue has been resolved in the meantime though. (The post is from July 23). Sorry!

Asked a friend with the same card to install the game, and he has it started. That is, if I have it shows the logo and gray screen, and then crash, he has everything works. What do you think may be the problem?

Someone had the same problem with a 1050TI. Updating the drivers helped. I hope it helps you too.

I got 8 years old GTX 970 so if anybody is unable to work with the mapmaking tool, with newer card, try to update the graphic card drivers. If that doesnt work, then sorry my help ends here. :(

btw. it might be good if the developer would make, after every new update so not too often :D , a pin down "discussion" on steam where people could post found bugs in that update instead of each individual making new "discussions".
