Multi-Monitor Support (Nvidia Surround / Ati Eyefinity)
Hi,

Game looks fun - I miss fun :) But when I try to play in my native resolution of 5760x1080 I can't :( The game is VErt- (doesn't scale vertically) which basically means it looks zoomed and cuts off half the screen basically - as you can see from the screens. Same with the menu's, they are Vert- and it makes it hard to navigate :/ Is this something that you would look at? I usually use an aspect ratio of 5.3333 for my surround setup.

Has anyone got any dev help on these forums? I looked at 505 games and Lootfly website and it appears no one wants to claim ownership :P I think the game look fun, but just want some feedback.

Unfortunately we can't have proper support for multimonitor displays, because the game's levels have been optimized for 16:9 aspect cameras, which means that you would see lots of weird glitches and holes in levels, outside of your main screen.

If you can't change the resolution ingame to something that works, you can modify it in the settings.xcom file:

Oh thanks for the feedback - despite the negative result. Yeah there's nothing to adjust in the config unless there's a way to adjust the aspect ratio. It may be the case that the game might exhibit anomolies, but even from the first screen - doubt it would - it seems to render horizotally quite well, it just doesnt do so vertically.

Oh man i hope this means that you kids are looking at it, and might show the multi-monitor community some love :P

So I spoke to Marlow Briggs the other day and he was outraged that this game isn't being played @ 5760x1080, I told him that the dev's would look into it - but he said, if they don't he "would take care of it" - hope you guys are safe and working on multi-monitor support :)

3x1 Portrait is aesthetically (and usably) superior to Landscape. Plus it is far more compatible with today's games. Give it a shot and see if you like it - I personally won't go back now, enjoy Portrait mode far too much.

Is it possible to tweak the FOV in any way ?

It would not fix the menus, but as far as gameplay is concerned it's always worth a shot. We the Eyefinity/Surround gamers are ready to test manual settings and overlook minor issues just to see how the game fares on our multi-monitor displays. What if it's not working ? Well no problem, at least we know we've tried what we could.

Please allow us to experiment, and we'll love YOU and your game even more :)

Has anyone figured this out?

There might be a guy from the wsgf.org community looking into (Hayden) but when I spoke to him last, he wasn't sure about whether he would waste his time, due to the game not being very popular. I did say, that it would probably only require a FOV fix, so he said he might look at it. See what happens, it's a shame the devs totally dismissed it without even trying.

Also a shout out to the devs, I got on to the developers of FEZ, and you know what, they said the same thing that the game was 16:9, but you know what they did, they actually tried to allow a higher resolution, guess what happened?? It worked!! So they will be including it in an upcoming patch!! Wow, a game that not only has been out for ages, but is simpler in terms of graphic fidelity, and yet it works - but the moral of the story is that they tried. :claugh:

Thanks for the information.
The game is not fps/tps, it uses fixed cameras, so proper triplehead Hor+ widescreen solution will break the game if the game wasn't designed with eyefinity in mind. So even if it could be done - it won't do any good, you'll just get ton of visual glitches and nothing else.
The production values on this game are excellent and yet the game sells for $4 bucks when its on sale. Forgive us if we don't hold it against them for not addressing 5700/1080 issues. Being that the game has a constantly moving fixed camera w/ specified fields of view depending on the scene I don't blame them one bit for not responding further to this thread. Have you people even played the game? Almost every level has some crazy camera angle... your acting like this is some FPS game that would only require a .txt file tweak. The entire game would have to be redesigned.

Actually no it wouldn't - and games like this have been fixed numerous times before, either by devs or our community. In fact one of our community members looked at it and would for the most part be able to fix it, but there wasnt much interest in the game, which means they wouldnt waste their time on it.

Many, many games can be fixed - you obviously don't have a multi-monitor setup, so I'm not sure how you can comment - and I gave up on this game back in January, so I don't care either way.
