What difficulty should I play on?

I'd like it to be challenging without being too frustrating.

For example, Batman: Arkham Asylum & Tomb Raider 2013 were about right on Hard Difficulty.

So how are the difficulty settings in this game?

I've only played it for around a hour and a half and I find normal to be about the right difficulty for me, so I suggest you go on hard. I'm not one of those people who like to be challenged in games, I'm just in it for a care free fun thrill - and normal seems to offer me that, which means it would be too easy for someone who wants to be challenged.

Yes, started it on Hard earlier today, and so far so good - did get killed by enemies a couple times so far. Checkpoints appear frequently enough, but since they don't replenish health, there's a worry about being stuck almost dead right before a group of enemies - guess that's what manual saves are for :)

Dunno about hard but on normal, you respawn with full health.

It's a great game though, really surprised me at how much I enjoyed it.

yeah... i had some points in the game with 1/3 of my health and no way to get health. if the enemies wouldn´t already be enough.. ;)
starting with full health would help... but on the other side... hey, we managed to get through somehow... had a bit of the dark souls feeling to it, when you got it at last. i play on hard and the balance is very good. will try the hardest (don´t know the name) on my second playthrough..and fail.. ;)
