Brotherly Love Reward?

I tried both the possible outcomes for this quest and one was supposed to reward me with some "magic book". I chose this outcome but now I never received this book. I this a bug or on my side or isn't it in the game yet?

Oke, thank you. I was planning to restart from an earlier checkpoint if it was a fault in my game. Too bad, I hope it doesn't impact too much later on.

It gives mages the fireball spell. It's kinda vital for mage builds. Actually this is wrong. It gives the firebolt spell, which is a starter spell for every mage, so it is a useless reward. Sorry for the confusion. Kill the merchant for the AP instead.

Tried every possible action, discussion and fight.
And I'm a Mage and need it.

I do have a mage main, yet I did not receive any reward. But now I'm further on in the game anyways, going back would not be an option anymore.

I don't want to be rude, but you realize this is early access? We are given the opportunity to play early, for less money, but some bugs we can report and some suggestions we can make. :-) I had this bug too. And like the dwarf quest, which also gives no reward, the devs know about it.
To be honest, the first Act didn't take more than 5 hours for me to finish on my second playthrough. Not that much time to do it again. What I am going to do: Wait for the bugs of Act 1 to be stomped. Then play Act 1. Make a Savegame of it. Continue on Act 2 and playtesting it, reporting bugs I found. After that I hope they clear out the bugs of Act 2 so I can continue with my "main save". And so on and on.

I am not really complaining, I was just wondering if it was a problem of triggering a wrong script or if it simply wasn't implemented yet. Because some other people also had this problem I knew I could know continue my playthrough (not having to reload older savefiles).

I spoke to the bandits and it did not advance the quest.

I didn't get it the first time, but the second time I talked to him he gave me the book. It's some sort of ice spell I think, I didn't try it since it was worth 100 gold and I needed the money more than the spell.

It's definitely some kind of scripting problem though since like I said he didn't give it to me the first time.

Yes, same here. If you go to the shop a second time, the book will be there.

when i did it i got a book called the "Convocatio Galacium" and it suposidly teaches ice spells
