As for the gators, I split my warrior types up to intercept them as well as possible and keep mage in the center to heal when needed. They tend to wander off on their own from time to time, let them go when they do rather than chase them down and take that time to intercept other crocs.
Also be aware - you have another fairly tough fight to follow, so do your best to go into that one healthy.
It may just be that i was going into this fight with my mage at 18ish mana and no pots and Takate revived at 1hp from dying in the previous fight.
Guess i will just have to take the previous fight slower. I noticed that the crocs would run away after taking so much dmg. I can manage to kill 4-5 of them but then the last two always manage to eat and trigger the spears.
Didnt know about the bushes and fire, i'll have to try that. I was making use of the spikes though, they definetly helped unless i told someone to attack the wrong hex of the alligator and they gleefully hop on the spikes too. heh.
If you're in rough shape at the end of the previous map, you can cheese it a little if you want by leaving one enemy alive while all your characters heal up at the fountain before killing him.
Agreed. One trick to the death wheels...let the one in front of Aurelia move twice, then reverse its direction. It will never hit her, at least not during the many, many turns I've taken on that map after doing so. So you can then push the fight all the way to corners by the healing fountains and only have to pay attention to the closest wheel when the time comes.
Takate was my hardest to hit so he went alone to the closet plate to him. This seems to work fine on any difficulty setting with most party compositions for me (all the styles I've played at least).
