How to correctly use bandages?
Hey folks!

The tooltip for bandages says that you can apply them during battle by equipping them in a belt slot. I understand this method of use. But, it also says you can apply the bandages outside of combat, by dragging the bandage onto a character.

When using a bandage out of combat, how do you decide which character applies the bandage? For example, I want Naurim to apply the bandage to my PC, but, the application is always failing. I can't tell if Naurim is even applying the bandage or if my PC who doesn't have any points in the correct skill is trying to heal himself, hence the failure.

Any tips on this? I bought quite a few bandages because they sounded useful, but I have failed every attempt at use so far, lol.

Bandages only work if you have an injury (slash across your portrait) otherwise, they won't work. They'll only heal injuries, not lost HP. You need a healing potion for that.

I assume they can also be used to ressurect downed characters during combat as well, though I've not tried that.
I hope i understand it. Well first you need the Skill level min 1. Just have to be Learned. So far i know you can usw the Bandages Only [outside of combat] with the Skill and if you have at least 1 wound. Healing Hitpoints never worked for me this way.
Yes I was trying to heal an injury (slash across the character) while in a town. I have three characters, only Naurim has the skill level and not the other two. But, the only way to heal using bandages in town that I can see is to drag the bandage from the inventory screen onto the picture of your character in the inventory screen. The heal always fails, I assume this is because the character is trying to heal himself, it doesn't let you choose which character attempts the heal, only the character that receives the heal.

I want Naurim to heal the PC, but I *think* because of the way the inventory screen works it thinks PC is trying to heal PC :-/

Even a PC trying bandage wound on him outside of combat didn't worked, the result was failed without any clear reason why, looks like a bug and anyway in the more general case I don't see any UI to let a character bandage another.

Right, thats not working.
In my experience, I wasn't able to use a bandage on anyone else but the very character performing the ability. I left mine at lvl 8 however it s quite frequent to fail the procedure (tried to quicksave-load it, sometimes it made a difference). The description doesn't say anythng about success chance so I assumed it would be working all the time.
Also, if you look it that way: a bandage cost 5 silver, if you go to a healer-even with wounds on multiple characters- the bill won't be anywhere near that.
My thoughts are on bandages afterall: not worth it.
-Can't target character who needs it outside combat (which would mean that you actually have to purchase the talent on each of your characters, spend AP on it and it could still fail).
-They are too expensive compared to using healers in town and the failure of using them makes this skill a waste.
You can only apply a bandage to a character by dragging it to their belt first. Than the character who's trying to use it rolls for the skill. The cost, plus inability to use it on multiple party members with one healer, makes me agree with Tofucsek. Completely useless.
I have used bandages successfully in combat and outside of combat. The character attempting use needs to have a decent (above 8) skill in healing for it to succeed with any kind of regularity. Just drag bandage to character in the inventory screen when wounded. If it fails, try again, the game's rolls are tough so expect failure frequently ;)
A dev mentiond this in another post with the same topic. When using bandages out of combat whomever has the highest skill in treating wounds is who rolls for the success of using the bandage. So if Naurim has the highest skill it uses his number.

Is this 'broken'? Do they inend to fix this?..... It's a bad thing to break and leave broken, it's a neccessity.. one would have to spend points for EVERYONE.. which is a waste and just turns your party into an ambulance crew.

This has to be fixed.

No.. he's wrong... My naurim has a treat wounds of 13.. and I have NEVER been able to heal wounds on a char outside of battle EXCEPT for Naurim... the others use their own skill outside of battle in the char screen and because they have 'zero' they can't do it... It IS broken.

There is no way to specify who heals wounds using bandages OUTSIDE of battle.
