Aspect ratio 16:10 issues
Hello!
I run the game with a 16:10 aspect ratio screen and it seems the game just letterboxes the screen. Also I guess the screen is just resized to match the resolution, however it seems like the text is done the same way and the thext gets really fuzzy and hard to read.

I did try the game on a 1920x1080 screen and it was much sharper, where as my 1680x1050 res screen looks terrible (in this game).

Same issue here and I also use a 1680x1050.. Luckily I tried the demo first and saved myself the money. A shame because the game seems like it would have been fun, but the messed up fonts make it a no.

This may sound harsh but buy a normal monitor next time. And, having owned a non default monitor, im actually amazed this is the first? game you have problems with in the age of console ports. Anything other than 1080p = screwed.

Many highend/graphical monitors are still 16:10.
I own 500+ games on steam, this is the only one that breaks fonts while playing.

Most games doesn't scale fonts like that. I usually run games in 5040x1050, but not all games does work in triple wide, like this one. The system reqs says nothing about needed 1080p res screen to run.

Just saying, but you have the same problems with fonts @2560x1440, which is 16:9.
On the technical side this game is kind of crap.

When I bought my monitor 16:10 was considered the "normal" and "default" monitor. 16:9 has only been more common the last 6 years or so. I upgrade my computer every few years, I don't bother upgrading my monitor very often as I find that a waste of money.

And no, I can't think of any other games I own in my library of 250+ Steam games where it has really been an issue. Even old 4:3 games look and scale better honestly.

Up to the devs whether or not it is economically worth it for them to address the issue. I have no idea how hard it is for them to fix. Just putting it out there as an issue.

lazy devs like this are the problem

I figured out a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ugly hack to get it to work.

You need to make your monitor appear to be 16:9, then it magically starts working.
To do so go to the Nvidia Control Panel and select "Adjust desktop size and position".
Select the size tab, enable desktop resizing and click resize.
Reduce the height to aproximatly 9/16 of the width (eg. 1680x944).
(Yes your windows desktop now has black borders, I told you its ugly.)
(You may need to disable scaling, I didn't check)
Run the game and select that resolution if it isn't selected already.

edit: ♥♥♥♥, this only fixes most of the issues but half the l's t's still look like semicolons (";") and g's like o, but at least the other letters look halfway decent

Just a heads up because of the sale:

They finally fixed the bug in some blackguards 2 patch
fixing it in blackguards 1 too was "considered"
but apparently its owners were found unworthy

so don't buy unless you own a 16:10 monitor with a 1080p resolution or lower

Does anyone know if the packported the fix yet?
I'd imagine setting your resolution to a different ratio would work fine, preferably a more typical resolution than what was suggested in a fix above. I'd imagine things like 720p would be supported by default aswell as 1024x768, I managed to get a list of supported resolutions before but can't seem to get it back up. (I stumbled across this article when trying to fix a startup issue where my monitor won't display any resolution fullscreen for this game still no closer to getting it sorted.)

There is no formal fix to this (known) issue, but there is a series of possible workarounds:

- updating graphic card drivers
- updating display drivers
- deactivating VSync in the graphic card settings, for example in the Catalyst Control Center
- sometimes it is ok to enter "Alt+Enter" to switch to windowed mode. If this helps it will give you a hint which screen resolution can be safely applied.
