Mods not working?

I've unsubscribed and re-subscribed, I uninstalled and reinstalled while subscribed... but no matter what I try, no mod seems to be working. I had ONE instance where the opening screen came up with a logo over the title screen saying "Modded!" or something like that, but it crashed immediately and never came back. Am I doing something wrong?

when you subscribe to a mod, you must wait for it to fully sync. so after it says the Workshop Content is downloaded, give it like 5-10 minutes for everything to sync.

Its been hours since i subscribed to the mods and they still aren't loading in for me.
