Black Screen

HI all been playing the game about two years now and all fine until today go online and black screen can see the flag icons map and crosshairs, Tryed updating driver lowering settings and nothing, Please any help would be great as I love playing this game ( and not talking to the wife)

same problem here but mine is kinda like a super fog and when i fire a gun i see little strips of yellow/orange

found the fix
the fix for me was to turn my effects quality to low and everything else is at max

Couldnt see any thing but changed the Directx setting from auto to 9 and now it works fine

Found it. windows update for microsoft balls it all up removed and working now:)

switching from auto to direct x 9 worked... Does anybody know what windows update messed this up ?

Without anyone posting their setup the fix could be anything. I have no issues here.

how do i change the direct x?

In C:\Users\*your name*\Documents\BFBC2 (or simular folder) you'll find a file settings.ini near the bottom there is a setting you can change from direct x=auto to direct x=9.
I have all my other settings on high (except for shadows) and changing direct x worked for me.

having the same issue it worked great for yrs now I can't see crap just map to left and icons the rest of the screen is black sometimes blue I changed mine to direct x 11 which I am running did nothing any ideas what to do ea is no help? I updated my amd video drivers and even downgraded them tryed deleting game and reinstall did nothing kinda POed,,,thanks in advance for the help.. ea needs to fix this

ok idk why but I tried the directx=9 and it worked wierd I am running directx 11 from looking @ dxdiag but oh well it working with that little change go figure thanks for the posts guys I am good to go

I am having the same problem as you the guy who started this topic. I have upgraded to 8 from 7 & I can hear everything fine, and see the bases but the screen is black.

You know its sad because all the battlefield games were made by EA & BF2 works perfectly in single & multiplayer so why wont BBC2 work in Windows 8 also?
