Just run it before starting the game, then you can alt-tab back and forth altering FOV on the fly. On a 16:9 monitor I find adding 15 is about right.
AFAIK editing settings.txt only changes the multiplayer portion of the game - which is understandable considering FOV fixes make some SP cutscenes look a bit odd.
Known that , but would like to change it for the SP as it still going to 55 ! Tryed this widescreenfixer today and won't change anything , in the app under fov i just see N/A , when i close the game it's going to 0 !
OOPS ! it does not support BFBC 2
I've downloaded the latest version (released about 10 days ago), opened the BC2 fix, put the slider at +15 degrees, set up a hotkey, minimize it to the tray, open BC2 and start a game.
However, everytime I attempt to use the hotkey, nothing happens. I've tried the default hotkey and various other custom ones.
Anyone else having this problem? I can hardly find ANY information about FOV in this game, let alone widescreen fixer.
Can someone maybe tell me what hotkeys they are using and what exactly it says in the box?
(I can hardly stand to play this game for longer than 20 minutes at a time, that FOV is so dang low)
edit
I'm playing the Origin version, btw. I come here because EA shutdown the forum for their own game, and most other places discuss the console version...

http://www.rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php
Follow the directions and insert the Calculated value into the "FOV=x" line of "settings.ini"
Alternatively there're BC2 launchers available that when provided with a desired FOV will automatically do the calculation and .ini edit for you
iirc FioPro's launcher and Gossam's launcher are the popular launchers; both allow almost all .ini values to be easily edited, great if you're scared or inept at modifying .ini's
