Bugs - can they be fixed?
I loved Bad Company 2, I was maxed rank on the console version and after playing a lot of Battlefield 4 on PC i decided to see if BC2 was alive and it is obviously but after downloading I see some weird bugs.

1. My screen constantly tells me to RELOAD even on hardcore servers, and even if I die. I will spawn in and reload will be sitting in the middle of my screen as if my gun needed to be reloaded but it doesn't. It's quite annoying sometimes to have it there as it catches my eye sometimes and takes my mind off the game.

2. Black screen flashes. Randomly my screen will flash black if I do something (not really specific) but I could be walking and walk through a bush and my entire screen (the box that bfbc2 is in) will flash black, nothing else will flash such as my desktop, firefox etc...

3. Black screen last around 10 seconds. At certain times instead of flashing black the screen turns black for a few seconds up to around 10 and then flashes back normally. Like the above one it only happens in the BFBC2 window, and no where else on the screen.

1. I haven't experienced this bug, so I don't know if it's caused by corrupted files or something else.


2+3. The screen flickering can be fixed by either forcing the game to run in dx9.

C:\Users\Username\Documents\BFBC2\Settings -> locate "DxVersion=auto" and change it to "DxVersion=9".

or

Altering the in-game settings so that the game doesn't use dx10 (screen effects and/or AA set as low as possible).

I've actually just changed my DxVersion=9 and then I load the game to test it out and get the famous cant connect to ea...lol

yeah i know ;[ not my first rodeo with this, been dealing with this stuff since bc1 such a bummer. Was even worse on bf3.

I believe your first one can be solved by going into settings and toggling the hint system twice.
The other problems sound like a driver/graphics card issue. What are your specs?

Gtx 970 FTW Edition.
16gigs of ram.
