I unlocked all rank items (this happens at Level 22) at around 106 or so hours. In Battlefield 2 I put in 500 hours and still had half the unlocks to go.

Yeah, it's pretty painful. I played over 100 hours back when I played on PS3 and I'm only like level 30. It does take a while. I created a new user with a different name because I don't go by my old name anymore and I've played 6 games, and I'm only level 2 right now lol Luckily as you said, it's not the case in BF3 or BF4.

Level the weapon stars. It took me about 250 or so hours to hit rank 50. You can unlock all of the stuff in the first few hours, though. It doesn't take all that long to hit 22 or so if you play the objective and collect stars.

Yeah, BF2 was a GRIND, but I loved it. Also, the highest rank in BF2 is unobtainable unless you reach one of the top 50 spots ranked worldwide.

I had 2000+ hours in BF2 and never got close to being the highest rank, I did get deep into 3 star general though. Sadly, the hackers and spoofers all but ruined that game, and my account. Oh well, I got my hours of fun out of BF2, thats for sure.
