Punkbuster ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I havent been able to play this game on multiplayer for the longest time, because as soon as I join a server I'm booted off because the game cant communicate with punkbuster.exe or some ♥♥♥♥. Can someone throw me a bone here on how to fix this pos?

Hi, try this:
1. If you still get kicks, such as “Can’t Initialize PnkBstrB.exe”, go to the Start Menu. In the “Run/Search” bar, type “services.msc” and press Enter.
2. Scroll through the list and find PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB. If they are not running (Check the Status column), right click each and select “Start”.

How install PunkBuster
Note:
First, uninstall PunkBuster if is installed ! You can remove PunkBuster for PC by going to the Control Panel – Programs & Features (Add/Remove Programs for Classic View) within Windows. Click Uninstall/Change to remove PunkBuster Services from your computer. As with any uninstallation procedures, make sure to restart your PC to finalize any system changes.

1. Get the latest version of PunkBuster Updater http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloader/download.php?file=1
2. Double click pbsetup.zip.
3. Extract pbsetup.exe to somewhere on your computer.
4. Double click pbsetup.exe (For Vista/Win7/Win8 users, right-click the file and select to run as Admin).
5. Click on Add Game.
6. Click on the Game drop down menu and select your title, in this case, Battlefield Bad Company 2.
7. The box Game Path should automatically complete itself, but if it doesn’t click Browse and navigate to where you installed the game and then click on Add Game.
8. You will now see your game in the main window, click Check for Updates.
9. A window should pop up with a progress bar and update to the newest version of PunkBuster for the game, after it has finished a notification will appear, click Ok and you are done.

Last tip:
1. Go in c:\users\<your name>\documents\bfdc2\ and edit gamesettings.ini. Search PunkBuster inside and if PunkBuster=0 change it to PunkBuster=1.

The most common cause for this is a security or anti-virus program. McAfee and other popular security/firewall programs need to be told to allow the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB services to run without restriction (even if you turn them off while playing; the service files are located in "C:\Windows\System32" or "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\"). Until you locate and remove the restrictions on PnkBstrA and B, you will continue to be kicked for this. DO NOT remove those files! E.g. if you are using a software firewall you will need to unblock/allow them.

Also make sure you don't run the game in a compatibility mode.

If it still doesnt work try to start the services with this exe:

Well, after following most of the steps in the last post I quoted, I found a punkbuster setup file that ran a repair installation or something. It also tested the service itself and it turned out successful, so I played BC2 multiplayer and I finally stopped being kicked.

The thing is PB doesnt even install like a normal program for some reason, it's wierd as hell and a piece of absolute trash which is why I was having so much trouble.
