The AEK is one of the worst AR's in the game. Has a slow RoF and low damage, it's only good at ranges. Get's raped by almost every other gun close up.
I ended up getting a 38% headshot ratio with 22% accuracy and a 1.4KPM playing all maps with it. It's accurate, does decent damage, and has a pretty fast RoF. If you know how to use it (same as most weapons in BFBC2, tap fire/burst), it's a very powerful weapon in the game.
And really, saying it has a slow RoF? You do realize it's right at the highest RoF for any Assault rifle in the game, right? You should probably at least use it for more than a few minutes before telling people which weapons suck or whatever.
F2K, M16, AN, and XM8 have a higher RoF. It's very good at ranges, doesn't lose a lot of ooomph as most do. It's a very fun game to use but far from the best in the game. I have over 2K hours on consoles and was one of the first 3 to platinum every gun in the game, I have used it extensively: http://www.bfbc2.eu/en/ps3/stats/stokesvilleking
Yeah... You're just wrong. The F2000 is slightly faster (while doing less damage), but the AN and XM8 aren't even close. The M16 technically has the same RoF, but it's in bursts and ends up being functionally slower.
And really, it isn't the same game on PS3 or 360. Weapon handling and aiming aren't even similar. To try and tell someone what's going to work on PC based on what you thought was the case on consoles (which wasn't true in the first place) isn't logical at all.
