I have a giftable copy of it in my inventory still and there are a still a few other people that do as well.
It is a shame they removed it since its such a great game, I fear EA will be removing more and more as time goes on. They only walked Mirror's Edge back due to the amount of blowback they initially got but it only delayed the inevitable.
Yeah I honestly wouldn't even be surprised at the rate EA is going.
Especially how they designed Battlefield 2142 to incorporate all previous Battlefields into the one game, almost to find a way to make all prior Battlefields obsolete.
With how 2142 flopped it may delay it by a little bit but they will still be removed eventually. If they could kill the fan favourite Bad Company 2 then nothing is safe.
Also I do find it funny how a lot of their removed games just so happen to be available on EA Play subscription service on Steam.
Just recently I noticed they started advertising FIFA 22 on EA Play via Steam the second they removed it from sale here with no prior warning which they just so happened to fail to list on their upcoming removal spreadsheet they provided beforehand. Hilarious.
I also need the achievement to stab a friend 3 times and take his tags, but none of my friends want to play BFBC2 on Xbox.
Damn that sucks to hear, would of thought if it was still being played it would have still been on Xbox. I heard there is still a community of dedicated players on PC at least.
There are community servers. Matter of fact the ONLY servers you can play on are community servers. Been this way for years. The community has kept this game alive.
Gross! My friend gifted that game to me. I played it for 10 minutes and quit the game and told him to refund and get his money back. If I wanted to play roblox, I'd play roblox and its free...
my point is we know that Bad Company 2 was a remarkable multiplayer experience... but Ozymandias - everything is subject to the erosion of time. i think considering that
1. the game has literally 50 ppl playing at max
2. the ppl that are playing are being farmed by level 100 colonels exploiting helicopters and OP weapons
the game is dead. this is uniquely upsetting bc most art can be enjoyed far beyond its window of mainstay social engagement. but mp video games are different.
in a similar way few ppl are going to go start reading the original Bible. they opt to read The New Testament or other adaptions in a modern context. many old English texts are furthermore literally unintelligible.
what complicates matters is that Bad Company 2 has a single player. but, anyone who removes their nostalgia glasses and actually plays the "amazing single player" will quickly realize how dreadfully boring it is.
i think that art is very social. it is best enjoyed upon its conception. then you can share the novelty of the work with your friends/family, anticipate updates, watch ur fav commentators play it, laud the devs, etc.
