Wonder if a remaster is on the cards. Which wouldn't be terrible, seeing as we never got Bad Company 1. A remastered package with both titles included would be great.

If not, it's such a shame to see a game going whilst it has a functional single player campaign.

Time to get on board playing BF 2042

Bad Company 2 is my least favourite BF game and I always believed this game was what destroyed the franchies and introduced it as a consoler shooter from the hardcore teamwork orientated game that BF2 was. But seriously this is just dumb to shut down servers for game that does not even have LAN option. I played this a lot and I had my fun with it, it was just never a BF game to me and seriously if they think shutting down is gonna push me to buy BF2042 for "downgraded BFBC2" experience, they are so mistaken.

Not gonna move to portal no matter what. What next? BF3 and BF4 shutting down?

Yes. Why else do you think no Battlefield game is on sale for this big Spring Sale EXCEPT for BF2042?

Portal is mid by the way. When I tried 2042 during the free trial, I only saw XP grind servers and an "Afghanistan War Sim" server.

2042 is not a BF game.

EA knows that these games have, despite their years, more potential than the latest garbage they released,Those damn BATTLEFIELD 2 memories of going through the same thing,This is one more nail in the coffin for this company.

zloemu & project rome will both continue to provide BC2 online play without EA, thankfully these projects exist to let us run our own custom servers and play around with mods. It will be sad to lose my official stats and stuff though, I had a lot of great times playing BC2 over the years.
