Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2

Battlefield: Bad Company™ 2

Lost all my guns and campaign progress for no apparent reason...
Had every gun and beat the story. Now none of it is there. I didn't reinstall, I came back after not touching it for a while and now I have nothing. Is there a profile somewhere online I can download to get everything instead of just going back in to find it all, just to have it miraculously disappear on me again?

Nope, didn't fix it.

Does being logged into your account have anything to do with Singleplayer progress? I don't think it ever did.
No, it does not.

It's likely you accidentally deleted your profile. No way of retrieving it so you'll have to start over with a new one.

I never touched the files or anything.

Mysteriously all my progress disappears then later reappears.... Maybe yours will too.... I just went to play and all was gone, just deleted game reinstalled and still gone. It has happened to me a lot, eventually fixes itself...

I'm no too mad, I've played this so much on 360 that I basically know the enemy spawns and mcoms and ♥♥♥♥ by heart. Just irritating.

Anyone had luck? Having the same issue. I keep having to restart from Heavy Metal. I tried verifying integrity of game files, tried logging in and completing it, nothing. WHAT DO I DO.

All your MP and campaign unlocks are saved in the Gamesettings.bin file in the BC2 folder in your documents fdirectory. I would check that first as they are not saved to cloud.

If you don't have that, for MP, Try playing a few sessions on a mod server with +XP boost. You'll unlock everything within a hour or so. It may not be applied to SP in this case.

If this helps in my case it was Windows Defender (or some security Windows app) that blocked the access to the Game Settings folder. So the game was starting with default settings and not being able to read the config or savegames. I allowed Windows to access that folder and it worked fine.

Windows Defender Security Center's Controlled Folder Access may have been introduced and enabled by default around that timeframe of the original thread. It must be turned off, or the game must be whitelisted under its Block History to stop it from blocking writing user settings to the Documents folder.

The same is true for OneDrive, which will also conflict. It must be set to not back up nor synchronize the Documents folder as well.
