Any guidelines when you can start contracting riders form your development team? Is the start date as well on 01-Aug for the dev. team?

I experienced issues in my first season with this. As well, recruiting new youth riders was strange as I completed scouting but afterwards was not able to find them to offer any contracts.

It's later, but you'd be an idiot to wait for the draft as the top 20 riders you 'scouted' will have already signed for a continental team. Development is terribly basic in this game. If you find a 5*+ rider, just always sign them for you main team on august 1. Worst case they fall to 3,5* and become cheap domestiques. Plus they 'develop' much quicker on your team.

Thanks. I'm happy that I used the approach you mentioned yesterday already. Two 5+ riders are now with my main team for next season
