Yes she is a playable Protagonist. At the beginning of the game you get the choice of playing as Die Anna & Max Damage. She was also in the original & my preferred starting character because her car was/is MUCH less Squirrely.

The only female characters in the game are Die Anna (playable driver), Val Hella, Nora Virus, and Stella Stunna.
