The skills take a bit of cash in the early game to pick up, but more than pay for themselves in the long run.
All three are reported for ages on Risen 3 troubleshooting forum, described in detail thus expect them all addressed in the patch.
A proper way to earn cash is what Cutlass Jack (man, enable comments on your profile so I can spam a few nice words!) wrote.
Who was that guy again? Where can I find him? I remember a dialogue where someone said he'd pay good money for silver platters and the like, but I can't seem to find that guy anyome... I'm running around with approximately 200 silver platters in my luggage because I don't want to sell to anyone else...
Colby, in the Kila pirate's den. He's normally standing not far from the fire closest to the teleporter.

Maxing lockpicking for example is a waste of cash. Max dex attribute is 105, you get legendary that boosts it +10 so if you train it three times that'd make your lockpicking on 145. And there is no chest with complexity over 120.
And Btw what item wr u crafting to sell Jack? in my case im avoiding to spend jade
Huh what? I am? When did that happen? Joxertm posts way more useful stuff than I do. But enabled as requested.
Back on topic I made so many items with crafting in this game and can't remember actually wearing any of them. Its really more of a money maker than anything else. Just avoid wasting materials on items that sell for under 100 or use things you need to buy spells (like Jade for Voodoo Pirates). Until after you buy all your spells.
You'll eventually get a sense on which items turn a nice profit over the individual sale price of components used to make it.
Interesting that they chose gold and silver items as the 'loot' items like this. Portable gold, so to speak. Perhaps if they had some kind of weight limit on the inventory, it might make sense to have these items maintain consistant value between buying and selling. Especially if gold counted against your weight limit. Then 'value' items that maintain the same cost when buying or selling become a way to carry more money in trade then you could have in raw currency. In a more realistic setting, gems and jewelry would usually take this role.
