I agree it is a beautiful world but thats not true there isnt a single rpg that is not comparable or as compelling. They are not the only rpgs that have hand crafted worlds.
Well, I just meant purely on the visual front. For me, no one else sculpts 3D worlds as well as Piranha Bytes, starting with Gothic 2. They just feel so much more "natural" than anything else I can think of, though Morrowind is pretty damned close.
And I'd also consider isometric games, while wonderful, in a slightly different category.
Many people have sung the praises of Witcher 3's world, but I was singularly unimpressed. So much copy/paste, so much flat lands, so much repetitive world. Dragon Age: Inquisition felt especially artificial, even moreso than Witcher 3, although I did appreciate the ambition.
Well I havent played the witcher 3 as I was never a fan of the series, its to dark for my tastes and it disgusts me the way they potray elves and other things that ive learned to appreciate in fantasy, not to mention its a very odd fantasy and the forced lesser evil choices is bs and no fun, I guess if you like the torture yourself then you may like it.
I did play dragon age inqusition and the romance choices where terrible for straight males it was way to much of a forced policitcally correct crap in the game that I simply did not care for, it went many steps foward and several steps backwards, 2 was a better experience for me.
What other games to you have beautiful handcrafted worlds?
I thought ventica had a really nice handcrafted world with its flaws and everything, my most fresh in my mind is probably darksiders 2. Ive played allot of mmorpgs and some of those had some really nice hand crafted worlds.

It cools down the overly orange tint to the game, sharpens it a tiny bit with Lumasharpen (not very much because it looks like NeffO already sharpened his own textures almost to breaking point) and adds in high quality SMAA and FXAA. I'd recommend turning off Risen 3's own AA solution because these look much better.
It shouldn't really affect performance.
Let me know what you think!
