Risen 3 crashes often
Like once every 30 minutes or so the game simply closes. No errors or anything like that, it seems to happen after I save the game, which is pretty annoying. Like once every 10 times I save it or so. Haven't been counting things, I just want to play. It is pretty annoying I have to do what I just did in game over and over.

I saw on Steam, after the game crashed, it was downloading something for Risen 3. Well almost every time after a crash, so I disseabled automatic updates but that didn't seem to make any difference. I also put off Sync... but didn't solve the problem.

Anyone else having this problem? What to do?

EDIT:

I have found the error logs, it says:

"The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access."

It happens after saving a game, but not every time which is odd. I have set Risen3.exe to always run as administrator, also when I start it askes me if I'm sure I want to run it as administrator for steam.exe and risen.

There has to be errors, what are the crash reports saying? What do the errors in Windows Event Viewer say in regards to the crashes? Have you verified the game's cache?

The problem is that there are no error messages showing, it simple seems to kill the 'game process'. Like when you would press ALT+F4

Or is there some hidden logging I should check?

game freezes up on me to often and randomly. I have to alt tab out and kill the process. I hate it since I was enjoying it and will likely not make it back to this game if it ever gets fixed. Any known workarounds or issues? Running AMD 9590 4.7ghz with a AMD Radeon R9 290 and 16gig ram on SSD. Win 7 64 bit.

Not a single issue here with crashes in my ~60 hours of play. I did have the game lock up once when Bones was casting a heal. That's literally it. Very stable compared to the average.

I, on the other hand, have a seemingly unique issue where whenever I want to alt-tab or manually save, my character gets stuck running forward, requiring nothing less than a restart.

It's a software issue you noob.

For those with a similar problem, I've been using quicksaves (F5) only now, no problems with that for some reason. I've finished the game already.

Mine has just started tonight too, nothing on my PC has changed, I played for 6 hours straight Sunday Night, but tonight I've had 2 crashes all creating a .mdmp file. Verified the files 3 times, on the first run there was 1 file corrupted, 2nd and 3rd runs were fine. Got me stumped.
