SPOILER: The head of the nameless hero of the Gothic series is modeled to resemble one of the main developers. Looks just like him. :)
Think about it. The canon ending of Gothic 3 is banishing the gods from the world. The start of Risen 1 is after gods have been banished from the world. There are lots of similarities- crystal magic, lizard people, and now even scavengers with feathers!
As I remenber this is more or less a result of the IP dissagreement between developer and distributor of Gothic - as a result almost in the same year two games were released:
- Arcania: Gothic 4 (not developed by PB)
- Risen
As I remember PB did supposed to get those rights back after Arcania (not sure about that).
I assume Risen is the result of the need to create next iteration of something similar yet not the same as Gothic. And the product lived on its own that the full return to the Gothic is not required.
Does murdering him gives you +5 to Soul? ;)
People said Risen 3? I'm shocked actually
