Easy way to increase gold?
I am about four hours into the game and find that I do not ever have enough gold to "learn." Is there a location that I could go to find 10,000 gold it would make the game a whole lot better. It seems like its very hard to find treasure/gold that is substantial.

Another problem when you die on crab Island you loose your good gear.

Explore. There are many many secret loots around the corner. Keep an eye out for them.

Also, I can't stress this enough- invest into the teeth, claw, skin, trophy etc skills as soon as you can. You'll never be swimming in gold in PB games. It really really helps a lot if you get those skills early, so that you can get loot from monsters / animals and sell them for gold.

Its a prologue... You start with very good equipment and you loose it at the end of it so you dont have good equipment from the start, that would be boring.

And frankly, i dont have any problems with gold whatsoever, I explore alot, as soon as i learned sneaking i stole everything that isnt nailed down, I was a bit low on gold occasionally but i always had enough to get my skills. By now im swimming in it.

I recommend you to clean out houses and watch your surroundings carefully, theres tons of treasure you can easily miss. Also prioritize which skills you want to buy, dont just buy them because you can at the moment.

This is one of the things that makes PB games great. The first Gothic is still one of my favorite games, always will be I think, because I remember starting off so weak, I had nothing but a stick I picked up as a weapon and was wearing rags. Everyone would pick on me and beat me up, even small animals. 100 hours later I would walk right into a city weapon drawn and exact my revenge by killing everyone in the city. Amazing stuff.

pick words right out of my mouth.

Nothing felt more satisfy than starting as a bum and becoming an overpowered mage by the end of the game, i would summon an army of undead and attack khorinis as revenge for their sins against me :D
Cheat Engine, search for a 4-byte value, type in your current gold, spend or gain some gold and search for the new value of gold you got in your inventory, repeat if you have more than 1 hit in CH. Edit that value and voila, same thing if you are looking to increase your glory.

+10 that game holds a special place in my heart, maybe cause nobody I knew ever heard of it, nevermind playing it. Everything I learned in that game I learned it the real hard way but, yea, once you get your strength up: revenge is ♥♥♥ sweet!
example: the strongest one hand sword in the game was found on the 2nd command of the soldier faction, no way to know it unless you, well, killed him.
Find hunter trainers ASAP and learn how to collect trophies, skins, teeth and claws. With all of those skills learned you will be able to pawn all of those critter items. Also pump your training into sneaking and dexterity and gather up all the lockpicking stat booster items you can find. Every single night when everybody is asleep, creep from room to room and steal everything not nailed down.
I found a way to make money early on. Not a lot, but sometimes enough to get you through to purchase an item or a skill. Skulls for some reason sell for 1 point, but are bought back for Zero. I've sold the same skulls for hours, and often made up the difference inside of a few minutes. A difference in the price of Goblets, most Silver items, Gold Items, Shrine items and Elegant Gold Bowls and a Gold Staff, as well as a Skull Cup, Drinking Horn and Hunting Horn, there is also a Valuable Chest that I don't remember the name of that can be sold for more than bought once you build up Haggler Skill. A few similar items are worthless for this but you have to check those off your list. I'm not that far in the game, and I can make about 700 Gold just selling and buying each time because I hoard everything. The good thing is that for some reason, the items after Goblet are all in a row except for the Skulls. I have 30 of those and still not joined a Faction. Be careful though. many items are the exact opposite and you will lose gold on those. Also, Save on everything. It gets old to have to redo.
Might as well use a trainer at that point, assuming one exists. More of a cheat than a real strategy.

I'd just suggest selling the loot you get, despite some of it being useful later. You can always buy it back later in the game when you need it, and you have a lot more money. Once you start selling the loot you find out in the world you'll very quickly have enough for training.
I'm currently able to sell, buy back with an increase of about 1200 gold. Wouldn't call it a cheat since the game designers made it that way. Otherwise I'm sure they would patch it.
To get a decent amount of gold from the multiply trade, you have to have the certain loot items, haggler skill maximized and spend some time on doing trade like you're spending on throwing/drinking/wrestle contests. But even having a million won't bring a great benefit because Gold, unlike the Glory, doesn't worth so much in this game. Like in any Gothic or Risen, you don't have wide choice of gear for the gold to spend on, or it's limited by the plot reasons and your upgrading abilities are always limited by the Glory. More likely, having a trainer nearby, you need gold urgently for making a couple of upgrades to never seek him again and the multiply trade works fine for this or you should sell all the loot and any useless stuff to get much more. Only cheat that exists in this game i guess the Adventure garb from the same DLC, which not only breaks balance slightly on begining but looks terribly and i'm playing with this DLC disabled.
I do remember how playing Gothic 1 you could sneak into the castle storages, crack their chests to get huge amounts of animal trophies and... hmm... ore? It was so cheating and cool :lunar2019coolpig:
How are you guys spending all that money? I've ended up with over 10k gold in the end and even after i bought a lot of skills i've never used. You will rather run out of glory, than money.

Not finished with the game at this point, I'm getting ready to go into chapter 4. I still have skills I either cannot qualify for, or not enough money. I've saved on some of the weapons to try them out, and I do the exchanges to build up my gold at or near the spot instead of cashing in what may be useful later. I also have a large supply of provisions and booze when a fight gets serious. If I have a surplus at the end of the game, that's okay. Can't take it with you:)

I'm still in early act three and have more money than god. Sell your stuff, you won't need 90% of it.
