Game manual?
Is there one anywhere? For any version? Checked Steam Store Page and XBox Marketplace and didn't see one. I like reading through manuals if they available before asking stupid questions. Plus often figure out useful controls shortcuts that aren't always obvious from reading the manual (like I didn't even realize you could Sprint in this game at all until I saw the Steam Guide for the endless sprinting exploit).

dito, theres part of the UI i dont understand, they dont have any tooltips either, so no clue what they are there for. There is a german hard copy manual with the collectors edition, i guess they were too lazy to translate it for us english users.

You can find the controls in the option menu

yes but not all the controls, things like f5 for quicksave arnt shown there, so there may be other shortcuts not listed. I would mostly like to know what the various magic lines are before making my desicion about which guild to join. The risen wiki hasnt been updated for the 3rd game yet.

Also random stuff like, what are each of the 3 numbers listed on a chest for lockpicking? Random stuff like that a manual could explain.

First Number is your skill/ last number is the strength of the lock. middle number... I dont remember seeing one?

It is a skill, Learn it from an NPC.
Ask someone from "The escapist" to send it to you. :) He got one for free from the publisher.

Every chest has numbers like this for lockpicking: 10(20) / 90

Also on that subject, I can't make heads or tails of the lockpicking mini-game at all, it seems just waving the pick back and forth works but there must be more to it, manual would probably explain it I would guess...

That was a walkthrough/guide, not necessarily the same thing as a manual...

As for lockpicking, you need to move up the staves of the lock in a certain order.
If you hit one of the wrong stave, all the staves will fall out again and you need to start over.

I'm sure someone else can explain this a lot better, but it's not just 'wavering the pick back and forth'.

how do I change the order I move them up? The ones further to the left are in the way of the ones further to the right. I can't push #4 without pushing #1, #2, and #3 first, as far as I can tell.

You don't neccesarily have to start at #1. The first one you need to push up can be #5, followed by #6 and then #4>3>2>1. Or some other weird combination. It's mainly trial and error trying to find the right combination, but they will always be possible if you take your time.

But as for your example, you can just slide the pick past #1/2/3 to #4 and start from there.

Again someone else might be able to explain this better. Explaining something is not my strong point.
Edit: This video might help if you look closely what he does.

But how do you move the pick past one of them without pushing it upward?? Doesn't merely touching it push it upward? Doesn't that mean therefore that you HAVE to push #1 first before you can even try pushing any of the others?
