I've never seen a game that had more sluggish combat than this game. I'm about an hour in, and I can barely survive a fight against a Scavenger because by the time I take a swing, the Scavenger can get like 3 attacks in. What were they thinking making swings take so long. Every other enemy I've come across attacks 2 or 3 times faster than the PC.
I'm glad to see it changes eventually, because I was about to put this game down and never start it up again.
One of the challenges is to get through a very unforgiving early game.
I was on the same boat. Once i became a dark teleporting magic wielding dark knight...it all changed. Jedis have nothing on me dude!
Yep, going back and beating the crap out of someone who had beaten the crap out of you when you were a weakling, is one of the things I love about the PB games.
Actually I thought the first few hours were pretty damn good too! This is the first Risen game I have actually started playing and I can't get enough, the world feels alive and there's so many things to do.
People weren't kidding when they say you go from nothing to a hero....in the first hour of the game I took on a crocodile and he ate me :( stared at the screen and wondered how the ♥♥♥♥ did a crocodile kill me.
LOL xD
Please, I want to know your thoughts on Risen 1 & 2 combat.
Since Risen 3 combat is more like a mix of R1 and R2, how is it "sluggish" and "not satisfying" even after two perks?
you start off as a very weak person with not many options to attack, go to some towns though and mete some trainers and that changes. The first hour or two is slow yes, but the combat as does the whole game, improves as the game goes. Also the magic is done very well to. Also make sure you join a faction and you get access to even more things.
