Sebastiano sea battle game breaking bug (SOLVED)

Ok, so I'm at the sea battle with sebastiano's ship and crew. Everything goes fine until I defeat sebastiano, then the game puts me mid-air out over the ocean. Tried cut scene skipping, prior save loading, nothing seems to work to get past this point.

Anyone ideas? Thx.

(Edit) Ok I think I know why this happens (to me at least). Previously I was still in chapter 3. I completed some more quests and started chapter 4. This time the sea battle completed properly with no issues.

I seem to be having the same problem. Trouble is, in order to complete more quests, I have to sail to different islands - you can't teleport between islands. And as soon as I set sail, the game forces me into the battle with Sebastiano, and as soon as I defeat Sebastiano, the game freezes with me suspended over the water.

The only solution seems to be to go back maybe 10 saves. What fun.

So, the guides I'm reading suggest this battle takes place in Chapter 3 but I have already done the sea monster battles and have yet to encounter Sebastiano... kind of bugging me >_>

This bug is caused by loading a save during the battle. Load a save before setting sail and starting the battle.
