Risen 2 story recap

It's been years since I played the previous games and don't remember much. I read a detailed plot summary for Risen 1, but amazingly, couldn't find the same for Risen 2. Was I the only one who liked it?

Anyways, I'm starting 3 now and I'd appreciate if somebody could point me in the direction of a decent plot recap for the previous game.

I did see that Wikipedia summary, but it looked incomplete. Is that the whole plot?

Huh, I actually thought it was the same protagonist.

The first one is better than 2, IMHO. I never finished 3, it's the only Piranha Bytes game that I have not completed, so I'm going back now to play it. Unfortunately, if you have a 21:9 monitor, it doesn't really work, unless there is some trick I haven't found yet. Have to play it at 1920x1080 I suppose.

The Wikipedia summary looks like it was written by somebody who played the first third of the game and then quit.

Technically it is accurate, but the point where you steal a ship (last sentence of summary) is the quest you get right after choosing a faction (inquisition or natives). After you steal the ship you can choose which islands to visit (previously you were at the mercy of the plot).

The over all quest is to find the other three Titan artifacts though, but that takes another two thirds or so of the game. After that you go and kill Mara.

You were not the only one who liked Risen 2. I personally think its the best of the series, because the dialogue and voice acting are the best of the bunch. Lots of people disagree.
