Execution isn’t hard at all too, again using SF6 as reference point. Most of it is cancelling OD (EX) special into another by inputting next special’s input end of hit. Although Feints and some normal linking will take time but that’s just practice and not input device dependent.
So use keyboard/hitbox/pad/stick/whatever and have fun mate.
In fact I think personally it is most optimized with a pad - like ps4 controller.
Finding a controller with a good d-pad is the hard part!
Stick is a thing of the past, if you've been playing on stick forever, you'll be fine, but I wouldn't recommend you make the transition otherwise in 2025.
Leverless is what most people who are serious about fighting games have graduated to using. It's basically easy mode when it comes to inputs, but it takes a considerable investment of time to get used to it if you've been playing on pad or stick your whole life. So, ultimately, you won't have more success on leverless than you will on pad, but when you're used to leverless, you'll be churning out inputs a lot more consistently than you will on pad.
