Is this game manageble on gamepad?
I heard the game is pretty execution heavy, would you say stick or hitbox is neccessary?

Any input device is good lol, same for sf6.

Execution isn’t hard at all too, again using SF6 as reference point. Most of it is cancelling OD (EX) special into another by inputting next special’s input end of hit. Although Feints and some normal linking will take time but that’s just practice and not input device dependent.

So use keyboard/hitbox/pad/stick/whatever and have fun mate.

In fact I think personally it is most optimized with a pad - like ps4 controller.

as long as whatever controller you're using has a decent d-pad. the game doesn't have any weird/overcomplicated inputs. everything is quarter circles or dragon punch motions. the combos are "hard" because of the strict timings (compared to other modern fighting games), not because of the complex inputs.
four button fighter ( plus one! ), the REV button functions as a macro for dashing/breaks, it's easy enough to do REV + another button for the universal overhead/upper-body invincible attack, and the REV specials can have the two-button Punch or Kick macroed to the shoulders so I'd say long as the d-pad is good it should work.

Finding a controller with a good d-pad is the hard part!

Plays fine in any controller. All the supers are classic double hadoukens.... Nothing too fancy with 360s and stuff.
No, you don't need stick nor hitbox. You can use whatever is confortable for you
I'm enjoying this game on my Legion Go and it just feels good to play on that device. I'm also using a Xbox Series controller on my laptop and it's going well. I have been using the Arcade controller mode and it just works very good so I think the Xbox layout is good for this one.
Depends on the pad. If you're using a garbage pad with a terrible D-pad on it, the answer is you'd probably get more mileage out of a leverless or a stick.

Stick is a thing of the past, if you've been playing on stick forever, you'll be fine, but I wouldn't recommend you make the transition otherwise in 2025.

Leverless is what most people who are serious about fighting games have graduated to using. It's basically easy mode when it comes to inputs, but it takes a considerable investment of time to get used to it if you've been playing on pad or stick your whole life. So, ultimately, you won't have more success on leverless than you will on pad, but when you're used to leverless, you'll be churning out inputs a lot more consistently than you will on pad.
I'm using an 8bitdoo and I get no issues
