And RevGuard, if you didn't get the point, increases the knockback from hitting your opponent on its guard, which for example means it's powerful against Tick-Throw techniques, or cross-up+fast Close fast button (like cl.HK / cl.HP) making them become f.HP / f.HP instead (and in the case of Preecha, her f.HP is not Special Cancellable, can't be Feint, and is safe but Negative on-block (I didn't try for the others)).
It actually forces your opponent to think his/her offense differently according to the way you use RevGuard or not.
About dashes, some people prefers to have 1 input to backdash in order to time it better at wake up, or to quickly confuse their opponent with dash>backdash to shimmy them, for example.
With step dash characters, it makes them spam it automatically, which makes it not feel like a burden mechanique compared to those with a regular run.
