Error Code 0x003c

Every time i attempt to play this game is throws and Error code 0x003c saying im not connected to the internet. Im definitely connected. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Don't shoot me down if my suggestion seems stupid, but could it be anything to do with NAT settings ? As I say, just a suggestion.
