They've had feedback for 3 years with KoF15. SNK will never fix matchmaking.
People who bought the game day one had to wait over a year and a half to get functional matchmaking. And even after it was fixed it was to late the game was seamy dead because of it.

Maybe they will fix it by the time the full release comes but they don't exactly have a good track record.
This is the equivalent of going to a taste testing, not liking the food, but instead of telling the chef you just yell about how bad it tastes to anyone that passes by. It's a beta, it's not meant to work, if it did, it would be a demo.
We must demand that the game works as it should.
Take Street Fighter 6 for example, it had an open beta, it had online mode, if I'm not mistaken 6 characters, it had versus mode
Everything worked, that's the very least we should demand rather than giving a game that's going to be released in two months' time the online is broken.
If they launch with the online like this “2 months is too little time to optimize”, the game will die very quickly.
Could it be because of the company's history of delivering bad netcode at launch?
Matchmaking and net-code are not the same thing.
Matchmaking is the how the game finds people for you to play against or how long you have to wait before you find a person to play whit in between matches.
Which is anywhere between 5 - 30 minutes right now.
On occasion i may find a match in less than 5 minutes and then after it is over i cant get another no matter how long i wait.
Net-code is how well the game plays once i actually manage to get in to a match.
And so far it works fine.
But at the end of the day what the point of a good net-code if i can barely even get to play the game because of bad matchmaking.
For comparison it takes less than 1 minute to find a match in T8 or SFVI hell even GGStrive.
What a shame.
EDIT
Apparently they have already released a statement acknowledging the issue. Now it only comes down to if you think they can actually get it fixed.
With the game due out in exactly two months?
I doubt they'll be able to make the online good.
