Why no windowed mode?
This game is the last time I am ever buying a Lego game on the PC (or at all for that matter) I am sick and tired of these Lego games not supporting Windowed Mode, I F**KING HATE being forced to play in full screen, especially on a single player game.
and worse yet, there is absolutely nothing you can do to force windowed mode on this game, I have tried every method I know of, even trying third party apps to force it, but nothing.

being forced in full screen is annoying and unless its fixed Im never buying a Lego game again.

if anyone has found a way past this, please let me know.

I'm in the same boat, bought the game for my son so he could play on second monitor while I work on the computer. Now if he wants to play I have to get off the computer. Every other game supports this, this is totally unacceptable for a PC game. If you find a way, please post here, I NEED a way to do this.

I don't have this game but try right clicking the application and go to properties. Then on the target line at the very end put a space then -w. So it should look something like .exe" -w at the end. The-w is short for window so you can also put " -window" at the end.

clearly you have never owned a LEGO game. that doesnt work for any of them. in some of the older ones you can get a 3D analyzer program to force a windowed mode but that program only supports up to shader 2.0 and this game uses shader 3.0 so it doesnt work.
I know of every method of forcing window mode there is and the only thing I havent tried with this game is opening up the games coding and changing it myself only because thats too time consuming.
these games simply do not allow windowed mode for some stupid reason and it pisses me off

AFAIK all LEGO games are developed with consoles in mind not PC or Mac. Hence poor support for keyboard and no support for mouse or windowed mode. People need to do a reasearch first before buying.

research would be helpful if these games told you if they had windowed mode support or not. but they dont. its not listed along with controller and multiplayer support and such. I can only find out by asking someone who already knows or by buying it myself.

Whats so bad about fullscreen?

I like to multitask while playing games. I'll have skype open or sometimes I'll split screen with a video Im watching. its really useful to be able to do things at the same time while playing the game.
but if the game is full screen only then I cant do anything but play that game. it makes me not want to play it because it means I have to be focused on that one thing.
I mean its almost 2014, theres no reason any game on the PC should ever be full screen only.
Fullscreen is bad for families that only have one computer, but manage with multiple monitors. My son plays a game while I work on the computer. Every game we've ever bought has been able to window so he can play and I can work. Now my son can't ever play his game unless I'm off doing something else. It's unacceptable.

there is a form of windowed mode i found by accident (i'm running win8.1 btw)...right click the legomarvel exe file in the steamapps\common of the steam program files directory and go to compatibility and choose "run as windows 7"...this will run as windowed mode...you can set your desktop resolution higher than the resolution that the game is set to which should achieve what you're trying to do

That won't work because the game has no mouse support, hence you have no option of moving the game window to another monitor.

It's working for me right now. My comment explained how to make the game start in windowed mode and being that you're in window mode means the desktop is accessible which of course has mouse support, therefore (even on my win8.1 tablet) you can grab the border of the game window and move it around

You must be very lucky that the game still allows you the use of your mouse :-). It looks like that the mouse support is different on tablets and/or laptops than on desktop PC's. No matter what I'm trying to do, my mouse is still disabled and I can't move the window.
So, let's just say that it has limited capability. People will just have to try it and see if it works for them. It definitely doesn't work for me.
And for those with Windows 7?

So much for some hope. In my case the game set itself to an invalid resolution for my monitor. No Lego game is currently working for me, despite Lego LoTR having worked in the past. So far i found no way to change the resolution of the game outside it, not even the way you described above. Actually it was funny to see how the Game and the PC battled for supremacy over resolution with my monitor going back and forth resolutions, not even the an option in the .exe proprieties to force a 640x480 resolution worked...Any ideas?

In desperate need of help....
