I did the first 3 stories. I want to go in free mode into one of them as they are unlocked now.
But can't find the map? with my controller.

Press "Back" button on your controller. It will show you the whole map that you can zoom in and out of it.

Well, I did that , nothing happens with he back button. The start button gives me the menu that is all.
During a story I can't find the map and after a story, I get into the next one. Is it possible that I have to do at least 3 stories to get to the carrier and maybe the map??

You can't use the map during the story, but you can use it when roaming the city or on the Hellicar.

Ed.: I forgot to mention that you must complete the whole story (all 15 missions) before you can us the map.

Ok, so why do they say that finishing a story unlocks it and you can then go free in it.
And roaming is impossible cause you are in another story. Carrier is not available then...so how do you roam before finishing the 15 stories?

As I said, you have to finish all 15 stories, before a free roam is unlocked. You can explore it a bit when going from one location to another to start a new story, but that is about it.

So much false information.

I can't tell you what controller button is the map, but I know I used the map on my keyboard wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy before I beat the game.

And as far as free-roam mode goes, all you have to do is visit a vehicle platform and change your character. Doing so unlocks free-roam mode and allows you to use the switch character button to pull up the character menu.

You can also go back to the hellicarrier, go down the elevator and then there's a spot to access free-roam to any mission you've already done.

Yep. Bushwalker you are not accurate. After the third story mission, you have the map (back button) and you can go freeley on the carrier or in Manhattan and replay each of the missions you have completed in story mode.

To change characters you first need to go to one of the change stations. After that you can change to any character during free roam
