Fps drops
Hello, i've purchased this game on sale and played the first 3 missions to open free roam, i've had some fps drops on some areas in the first 3 missions but ignored it. Now when I am playing free roam it is almost impossible to play as my game drops to 20-30 fps all the time and I have a good PC and run games that require better pc than this game (BF4 etc.) and have no problems at all.. I tired changing the video settings and resolution but it runs the same, i tried turning v-sync on too but it didn't have too..
Any help will be apreciated :)

I have the same exact issues. If we can call it issues. I experienced some very minor fps drops durning mission cut-scenes [ones rendered on the game engine not the pre-rendered cgi ones] and some fps drop in free roam.
I did some testing and it seems the game loads "areas" in such specific way. Its easy to test running across the chinatown area in upper east side [near stark tower]. Most likelly when you run there with your character the game will have some fps drops, its just loading game areas. The city otself is probably coded that way in the engine and cut into areas that are pre-loaded to the memmory. Whenever game loads them - fps drop occure.
I tested all the settings, from lowest to max [and im able to run that game maxed on both of my pc, 1st one - i7, gtx 760, 8gb ram, win 7 64 bit, 2nd - e8400, gtx 260, 3.25 gb ram, win 7 32bit] - im 99.9% sure this is not related to people hardware, its just how the game is coded.
Still - those drops are quite annoying.

Well I downloaded the demo on my PS4 and there aren't any fps drops but the game runs at 30 fps.. I managed to get my game running on 30 fps on PC and I am playing with an Xbox One controller from a distance so its not that noticable that its 30 fps.. anyway, so this issue is only on pc? are there any fixes for that? thanks :)

Yes those fps dips are only on PC. I played the game on PS4 as well and noticed like maybe 2-3 drops in the entire story mode, on pc it a loot more common. Probably the fault of mediocore console porting [fun fact - batman 2 do not have such drops and its a huge sand box lego game as well]

Well thats a shame that they don't put in alot of work for this game on PC..
Anyway, thanks for the replies I think i will continue to play this game on 30 fps until maybe there will be a fix for those fps drops.

I found something you can call "partial solution" to those fps drops. When i start the game i go to the process manager [ctrl+shift+esc in win7] and then set the game priority to high and set the affinity to use only core 0. After that i get back to the game for a second, then again alt-tab it and set the affinity again to use all my cpu cores. End result - almost no framdrops, sometimes some minor one pups up, but its barelly noticeable. You can chek it out, it takes like 30s and it makes my gameplay smooth as butter.

I'll try it sometime, thanks :)

I tested it some more and it seems [at least in case of my both PC] the affinity switching removes the game lags. Every time i swicth the cores to use only core 0 and then pop the game back, alt-tab it again and set all cores to be used again - no framedrops, no sound issues, no ctd's. Its worth a shoot, the game now performs great and i can finally play it without irritaiting animation stutters :)

This is an interesting info. Maybe this might be of help to a lot of people. I'll try it myself, because on occasions I'm experiencing lags as well.

I've tried this on Lego Harry Potter 5-7 (which has a lot of lag too) and it worked. Thanks! :)
