Turnstile Switch Problem on "Rock Up at the Lock Up"

On the "Rock Up at the Lock Up" level, at the beginning when you have to fly Iron Man across the gap and assemble the turnstile switch to bring the bridge back up, I am having problems. When I attempt to turn the switch, Iron Man just runs and "slides" away from it. On the off chance that he does "stick" and begins to turn it, the switch rotates but he "sticks" in the same spot so that when the switch rotates around, it knocks him away and the bridge falls back down. I have been working on it for several DAYS and I can't seem to solve the problem. I've tried restarting the game and returning to New York and then going back into the level. I'm not sure what else to do and am very frustrated at this point. If anyone has had this problem and/or may know how to solve it, please let me know!
