Game launches and crashes, please help
Hey all. I know this games a few months old, but I bought it off steam today hoping to play it with my little girl. To my surprise all it does is launch, I see the black screen with the lego and mavel logo w/ some white texts, then it crashes back to desktop. I've reinstalled Direct X, and C++, I changed the pcconfig files and set a lower resolution, and changed the regional settings to english, and I've even got 3doverrider working in the background. Can anyone help me get this game up and running please?!

Inel Duo Quad Q9553 2.8
GTX 660
Win 7 64x
8 Gigs of Ram

Lego batman worked perfectly for me.

I'm having this same issue.

I have:
i7
Windows 8.1 pro
2 x GeForce 760s
32 gigs of Ram

The game pretends to launch, I get a black screen, and then it minimizes itself into my tray. I updated my drivers for my video cards, and it launched perfectly after that. But now, I'm back to square one. I tried updating my drivers again to no avail. Isn't working.

What sucks is the game worked perfectly on my much inferior 400 dollar laptop, running integrated graphics and windows 7.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Thanks,
John

I don't know if this will help, but judging from so many posts with similar problems I would suggest that you try the following:

1. If you have updated drivers and DirectX than after restarting your PC you migh try to reinstall the game, in case it cashed or rememberd previous configuration and you don't know where this info is stored.
2. Have you tried using "Run as Administartor" option when launching the game?
3. Graphics: This could be a tricky one. I've noticed that OP had changed pcconfig file in an attempt to solve this issue. If you can't get to the in-game options menu than this is the only way to fix it providing you match it to what your monitor supports. Not just resolution, but also the refresh rate and V-sync (it's best to be switched on). OP, why are you using 3D overrider? I saw reports saying that it doesn't provide help for games using DX 10 or 11. Besides, you can use nVidia control panel for tweaking it if necessary.

If this doesn't help than the only possibilty is that there is some third party SW interfering with your game.

I solved my problem with Windows 8.1. What you need to do for the current OS is find the Lego Marvel application file on your computer. Go to wherever you have your Steam games saved (i.e. Steam > Steam Apps > Common > Lego Marvel Heroes > Right click the Lego Marvel icon and click "troubleshoot compatibility." I think it sets it to Windows 8 and the game will play perfectly from there. You even have the option to save the compatibility settings.

What I did was verify the integrity of the game via steam. Right click the game, go to properties, go to the local tab, and verify the game. I guess steam forgot to download the last 2 gigs of data, or there was a hiccup somewhere. Thanks for all your guys help.
